The J point on the electrocardiogram is a sudden turning point at the junction of the QRS complex and the ST segment, which marks the end of ventricular depolarization and the onset of repolarization. J point after the setback called J waves. J wave mediated by transient outward potassium currents is an electrocardiogram marker for many clinical syndromes such as Brugada syndrome, primary ventricular fibrillation and early repolarization syndrome. The J-wave cell and ion flux mechanisms play an important role in the development of sudden cardiac death due to Brugada syndrome, primary ventricular fibrillation and even ST elevation myocardial infarction. Therefore, these clinical syndromes are called J wave syndrome. In-depth understanding of the intrinsic mechanism of J wave syndrome is of great importance to the prevention of sudden death.
