在世界著名的植物园——加拿大蒙特利尔植物园内,有三个专门展示盆景的园中园,即北美园、日本园和中国园。北美园内陈列了加拿大和美国的一些盆景作品,树种多为能适应当地气候的松柏类,其中不乏百年的老树;日本园中收藏了一些日本盆景名家的作品,也以松柏类为主,但树龄相对较短。中国园则分为室内和室外两个展区。室内展区在温室内,主要陈列了香港伍宜孙先生赠送的一批岭南风格的盆景,以杂木类为主;室外展区是由中国上海承建的一个庭园,陈列的也是来自中国的盆景作品。在庭园的入口处,设了一块大牌子,上面用表格的形式,将中国盆景与日本盆景各自的特点从多方面作了对照,引起了许多观众的浓厚兴趣。
