清代《芒市译语》《南甸译语》《猛卯译语》《干崖译语》中的德宏古傣文混用多种字母形式表示a,本文通过与泰、老、柬、缅、西傣等同系文字比较,发现这些同样表示a(不分长短)的不同形式有多种来源,这表明当时的德宏古傣文处于非一符一音、文字不够简明规范的状态。在此基础上,文章还对某些字母的形音演变进行了探讨。
