In 1919, Sun Yat-sen once put forward in his “Strategy for Founding of a PRC” to build a large port in Andong (now Dandong), the northernmost coast of mainland China. Today 85 years later, Mr. Sun Yat-sen’s “Blue Dream” has become a reality. After several generations of unremitting efforts, Dandong Port has not only completed the historical evolution of the port of commerce from the small river to the modernized international port of commerce, but also fulfilled the goal of over 10 million tons of port throughput at the end of the “10th Five-Year Plan” ahead of schedule.
