蒙文通先生(1894—1968),四川盐亭人。我国现代杰出的历史学家、国学大师。自20世纪20年代起,先后担任成都大学、中央大学、河南大学、北京大学、河北女子师范学院、华西协和大学、四川大学等校教授。50年代后又兼任中国科学院历史研究所研究员、学术委员会委员。2004年10月,各方学者云集四川大学举行了蒙先生诞辰一百一十周年的纪念大会,对文通先生的道德学问作了深情的回顾。而在两年前,倾注了蒙先生的哲嗣四川大学历史系教授蒙默先生一生的精力,耗时近二十年的六卷本《蒙文通文集》也出版完毕。此为学界又添宝典。这一工作具体情况如何,以及蒙文通先生的治学经验又是什么呢?在今年(2006年)
Mr. Meng Wen Tong (1894-1968), Yanting, Sichuan. China’s outstanding modern historian, master of Chinese studies. Since the 1920s, he has successively served as professor of Chengdu University, Central University, Henan University, Peking University, Hebei Normal University of Women, Huaxi Union University and Sichuan University. After the 1950s, he concurrently served as a researcher and academic committee member of the Institute of History of the Chinese Academy of Sciences. In October 2004, scholars from all walks of life gathered in Sichuan University to hold a commemorative meeting of Mr. Meng’s 110th birthday, and made an in-depth review of Mr. Wen Tong’s ethics. And two years ago, devoted Mr. Meng Tetsu Si Meng Sichuan University professor Professor Meng Mo life energy, took nearly two decades of six volumes of “Meng Wen Tong Collection,” also published.
