在辽南海城西南方向,有一座山叫名甲山。名甲山南山坡,有一片橡树林,林中有一座古寺。古寺座北朝南,随山势起伏,分上、中、下三进。第一进牌楼式寺门,两侧各有一趟厢房,门楼中间挂有一块汉白玉牌匾,上书“敕建白马寺,贞观十八年秋”。第二进是一座大殿,殿内左侧供奉一座汉白玉雕成的白马,右侧供奉一尊泥塑白袍年轻将军,东西两面墙上是彩绘的白袍小将和白马救主的壁画。第三进是大雄宝殿,供奉的是原始天尊。这座古寺,整日钟声不绝,香火不断。关于这座古寺还有一段动人的故事哩!
