美国和泰国在亚洲冷战形成的过程中逐步结为安全同盟,导致中泰关系处于隔绝状态。国际形势自1953年起趋向缓和,中、泰两国希望改善双方关系。亚非会议为中、泰进行直接接触和了解提供了难得的机会,并在亚洲营造出缓和的氛围。中泰关系在会后出现缓和,致使美泰关系出现摩擦。中泰缓和结束后,美泰关系重新得到巩固。
The United States and Thailand have gradually become security allies in the process of the Asian Cold War, leading to the isolation of Sino-Thai relations. Since 1953, the international situation has tended to ease. China and Thailand hope to improve their relations. The Asian-African Conference provided a rare opportunity for China and Thailand to engage in direct contact and understanding and create a relaxing atmosphere in Asia. The easing of Sino-Thai relations after the meeting led to friction between the two countries. After the easing of Sino-Thai relations, relations between the United States and Thailand have regained their solidarity.
