The high-efficiency transmission electron (TE) photocathode developed by Intevac’s engineers is the heart of the recently demonstrated LIVAR laser-based vision and ranging system (LIVAR). As a result, the long-range quantum efficiency of InGaAs photodetectors 1.0 to 1.6urn is 15%, which is several orders of magnitude greater than the sensitivity of a typical St cathode. At the same time the new detector also applies to the company’s 1 · sumLIVAR system.
