与安排在头版为主的报纸导读相比,期刊导读的样式更多。就科技期刊的导读而言,目前大致有九种样式,分别是封面导读、目录前导读、目录页导读、版权页导读、卷首页导读、栏目(板块)前导读、主标题下导读、文首导读和章节段落前导读。在具体的编辑出版实务中,会出现两种模式——单一模式和复合模式。科技期刊的导读功能可以细分为三方面,即广告渲染吸引眼球、陈列告知突出主题、标注提示明确要点。
