尔比是彝族人民在漫长的历史长河中不断总结、提炼、扬弃而丰富起来的一种语言片断。它以形式固定、通俗易懂的语言,反映了一定的思想内容和深刻的道理,是彝族文化宝库中的一朵奇葩。它以内容深刻、涉及范围宽广,包罗了生产、生活、历史文化、天文地理、政治经济、风土人情以及社会生活的各个方面。尔比的语言生动精炼,形式与汉族的谚语近似,但与谚语在结构和功能上也大有区别。
Erbi is a linguistic fragment that the Yi people keep summarizing, refining, and renouncing while being enriched in the long history. It is fixed and easy to understand language, reflecting a certain amount of ideological content and profound truth, is a wonderful treasure in the Yi culture. It is profound in content and covers a wide range and includes all aspects of production, life, history and culture, astronomy and geography, political economy, customs and social life. The vivid refinement of Erbil’s language, which is similar in form to the proverb of the Han nationality, differs greatly from the proverb in structure and function.
