香港是一个吵闹的城市.高层建筑鳞次榔比,使已经非常高的交通噪声增加了“混响”效果而更其吵闹.盘旋在山坡上的许多道路增加了车辆上坡噪声;加上许多快速车道架空而起,扩大了它的干扰范围.施工场地比比旨是,凿山挖地,打桩开路,也是城市噪声一大危害.空调设备到处可见,居民生活中的家用电器以及娱乐设施的普及,在拥挤的住宅群中干扰很大.进出繁忙的机场就在市区,因此低空飞行的客机隆隆之声不绝于耳.这都给初到香港的来访者很深刻的印象.
