因为语音一级是代表音韵分类的最后阶段,本研究企图弄清从Chomsky和Halle系统中选出的某些区别特征的知觉特色及其适当性。本文融合了心理物理的倾向性与记忆技巧,以绕过用两对最小区别对之间的不相似度的强迫选择判决带来的言语多余度问题。本研究还设计得用来证实Stewart和Barach从前所做的另一项研究的某些方面。结果指出,某些区别特征比另一些区别特征更突出,并且分层结构似乎是合理的。结果还表明,区别特征的知觉权重是不同的,并且在性质上也不是严格二进制的。
Because the phonetic level is the final stage of phonological classification, the present study attempts to understand the perceptual characteristics and the appropriateness of some of the distinctive features selected from the Chomsky and Halle systems. This article combines the psychophysical tendencies and memory techniques to bypass the verbal redundancy problems that result from forced choice decisions with two pairs of minimal differences. This study was also designed to validate some aspects of another study previously conducted by Stewart and Barach. The results indicate that some distinctive features are more prominent than others and the stratification seems reasonable. The results also show that the perceptual weights of distinctive features are different and are not strictly binary in nature.
