睡眠与饮食、呼吸一样,是生命活动中的一个重要组成部分。睡眠时,心脏跳动减慢,体内各种交换过程变得迟缓,就连中枢神经也处于休息状态,神经细胞不再接受和应答外部刺激。只有呼吸、心脏活动、血液运动、消化等中枢,以及新陈代谢和体温调节功能尚处于工作状态,但其“工作强度”也已减至最低。
Sleep, like eating, breathing, is an important part of life activity. Sleep, slow heart beating, the body’s various exchange process becomes sluggish, and even the central nervous system is also at rest, the nerve cells no longer accept and respond to external stimuli.
