大学精神是大学在办学实践中积淀形成的为大学人所认同、追求、遵循的理想、信念、价值观和行为准则等组成的体系,其核心是办学理念。大学精神是大学整体文化的精华(一般认为大学文化由三个层面和部分组成:物质文化亦称环境文化、制度文化、精神文化亦即大学精神),是大学之魂,对大学的建设和发展起着导向引领作用。因此,培育和弘扬大学精神,是提升大学品味,完成大学使命的重中之重。
