现在许多家长都非常重视学习英语,我经常看到许多小学生在家长的陪同下,在放学后进入第二课堂——课外英语补习班的大门,因为许多家长认为,不让孩子输在英语起跑线上的最佳方法是将孩子早早送入补习班的大门,其实并不是这样。作为一名英语教师,笔者有着从事高三教学的多年经验。在我看来,很多学生之所以学不好英语,在于他们母语没有学好,所以在学习英语时词不达意,不能学习到英语的精髓,暴露在考试中就是考试成绩低下。所以,笔者认为,学好母语是学好英语的基础。

As an English teacher, I have many years of experience in teaching high school. In my opinion, many students are not good at learning English because they do not learn well in their native language. Therefore, when they learn English, they fail to understand the meaning of English and can not learn the essence of English. Exposed to the exam is the result of low test scores. Therefore, I believe that learning a good mother tongue is the foundation of learning English well.
