Status of Xi’an Economic and Technological Development Zone Xi’an Economic and Technological Development Zone was established in October 1993 and is located in the northern part of Xi’an. It is composed of four central functional zones, namely Central Zone, Export Processing Zone, Caotan Ecological Industrial Park and Jingwei New City. The total planned area is about 144 square kilometers, resident population 208,000. The zone has vigorously implemented industry-driven, project-driven and city-driven strategies, expanded its scale, strengthened its strength, shifted its approach and promoted its economy. Its economy and society maintained a good momentum of development and became the first advanced system in Shaanxi Province with a total output value exceeding 100 billion yuan
