Last spring, Lucian Goldman came to Cambridge for two speeches. Being able to listen to a well-deserved and respected person’s speech is a valuable opportunity for many of us. He said he likes Cambridge planning trees and fields around the classroom. I invited him and he also agreed to come again this year. More importantly, we agree to talk about the current job because we are all aware of some kind of irony: close proximity between Britain and France often translates into massive cultural dips, especially on some details.
