“金日成花”的来由1965年4月的某一天,当时正在印度尼西亚进行国事,访问的金日成主席,在印度尼西亚总统和植物园园长的陪同下前去参观宝戈尔植物园,主席走到一种格外瑰丽的兰花前停下脚步,以深情的目光注视了一会儿说,这朵花瑰丽得很。植物园园长向金日成主席介绍说,这是他们国家的一位植物学家最近刚培育出的属兰科植物的一个新品种,遵照总统的指示,已设法使它开了第一朵花。金日成主席听了园长的介绍后,对主人今天请他欣赏如此名贵的花表示谢意,并对那位植物学家在研究工作中所取得的成就表示了赞赏。总统听了主席的谈话后,欢悦地说,他要以尊敬的金日成主席阁下的名字来命名这种花为“金日成花”。金日成主席婉言谢绝,说自己没有做出什么了不起的事情,不应该享受如此殊荣。总统则恳切地说:“尊敬的主席阁下已为人类建树了丰功伟绩,最高的荣誉应该属于您”。金日成主席看到总统的决心已定,说的又那么恳切,也就不便再推辞了。

After listening to the Chairman’s statement, the President happily said that he would name this flower “Kim Il Sung Flower” under the name of His Excellency the Honorable Chairman Kim Il Sung. President Kim Il Sung declined politely, saying that he did not make anything remarkable and should not enjoy such a privilege. The President sincerely said: “Your Excellency the Honorable Chairman, who has made great achievements for mankind, the highest honor should belong to you.” President Kim Il Sung see the president’s determination has been set, that is so sincere, it is inconvenient and then refuted.
