[Methods] A total of 124 female service personnel from 4 large-scale entertainment venues and 18 small venues in Luwan District of Shanghai were randomly selected to conduct a face-to-face questionnaire survey. The questionnaires included demographic data, knowledge and attitudes about the use of condoms and related behaviors, AIDS prevention knowledge Source and so on. [Results] The average age of female service staff in entertainment venues was (29.44 ± 7.10) years old, with 80.6% of junior high school education and below; the knowledge and attitudes of condoms were lower, the skills of persuading clients to use condoms were lower, and the last three commercial Sexual contact insist on using the proportion of condoms only 36.6%. The higher the total condom point score, the higher the self-efficacy score of condom use, and the higher the monthly income, the higher the frequency of using condoms. The OR values were 3.023, 2.877 and 1.623, respectively. A high condom accessibility score; however, access to HIV prevention information is low through specialized agencies. [Conclusions] Condoms used by female service workers in entertainment venues are less frequently used and unsafe behaviors are frequent, which may lead to potential AIDS transmission. The main obstacles affecting the use of condoms are: the population is less educated, the condom lack of knowledge, persuasion of clients using condoms skills are poor, the site manager’s attitude on the use of condoms is not clear, and social publicity is not enough. In order to improve the effect of controlling STD and AIDS, interventions should be conducted simultaneously with female service workers and clients to promote and promote the use of condoms in the light of the above obstacles.
