Objective To investigate the effect of HR-HPV on persistent HPV infection in patients with condyloma acuminatum. Methods Ninety-two patients with condyloma acuminatum were tested for HPV genotyping and DNA quantification. The patients were followed up for 15 months after treatment. Results The incidences of persistent infection in patients with high-risk HPV infection and non-high-risk HPV infection were 36.36% and 12.73%, respectively, with statistical significance (P <0.05). The persistent infection rates of patients with HPV viral load of 10 ~ 3 ~ 10 ~ 5, 10 ~ 5 ~ 10 ~ 7, and> 10 ~ 7copies / mL were 22.22%, 21.43% and 26.32% respectively, with no significant difference P> 0.05). Conclusion Patients with condylomata acuminatum who have high-risk HPV infection are more likely to develop persistent infection and have longer duration. The viral load and the duration of the disease is not relevant.
