It has been shown that antisense RNA expressed by eukaryotic vector can interfere with the replication of immunodeficiency virus in many cell lines. The authors have reported that antisense RNA expressed by retroviral vectors can effectively inhibit the replication of simian immunodeficiency virus (SIV) in the lymphocyte line HuT-78.
