吐峪沟石窟作为高昌时代最早、规模最大的一座石窟,它位于吐鲁番市东约60公里,距高昌故城约10公里处。吐峪沟石窟作为高昌文明的一座丰碑,其昌盛与衰微都与高昌政权的存亡关系甚密。吐峪沟石窟历经千百年沧桑,饱受风沙、地震等自然灾害的侵蚀和人为的破坏,现存洞窟46个,且大部分都是没有壁画的僧房窟,壁画残存虽少,但具有丰富的历史信息及重要的研究价值。为了将这些重要的历史资料以及绘画艺术更好的传承和研究,故作此线描图集。不妥之处,恳请大家批评指正。
