Wallace’s discovery of the principle of natural selection together with Darwin and the initiation of the Darwinian revolution has become one of the common sense of the public in our country’s understanding of the history of evolution. This understanding is reminiscent of Whig’s history. In Peter Bowler’s Non-Darwinian Revolution, From the perspective can also be re-examined. Wallace, like other biologists who might become “co-discoverer,” is fundamentally different in thinking from Darwin, and Darwin’s response to the “Wallace Incident” is largely out of an academic Consideration. Darwin’s theory of natural selection is unique and premature, and the clarification of this point helps to understand the frontier developments in foreign “non-Darwinian industries.”
