在英语的并列句中,动词空位是一种能有效避免行文重复的语法手段,是语言经济性原则在英语中的一种体现。通过对动词空位现象做尽可能全面的句法梳理及研究,将其应用于汉英翻译中,可以较好地处理某些汉语原文并列句及排比句中的动词性重复问题,达到改善英语译文修辞及语篇衔接的目的。
