许鸿飞是中国美术馆建馆以来,第一位在展馆外广场上举办个展的艺术家。当我和中国美术馆范迪安馆长商量能不能让许鸿飞在中国美术馆外广场做雕塑展览时,他一口否定,说中国美术馆的外广场是国家形象的殿堂,再大的艺术家,我们都不可能允许在外广场做个展。我给他看了些许鸿飞的雕塑作品,强调了许鸿飞的雕塑从图腾崇拜、英雄崇拜转向了关注现实生活,具有浓郁的一种平民意识和平民味道,这批作品在中国美
Xu Hongfei is the first artist ever to hold a solo exhibition outside the exhibition hall since the establishment of the China Art Museum. When I discussed with Director Fan Dian of the National Art Museum of China about whether Xu Hongfei can sculpt an exhibition outside the China National Museum of Art, he denied that the outside square of the National Art Museum of China is the hall of national image, and then another big artist, neither of us May allow a solo exhibition in the outer square. I showed him some sculptures by Xu Hongfei, emphasized that Xu Hongfei’s sculptures shifted from totem worship and hero worship to real life, with a strong sense of common people and common people.
