唐代有个姓郭的人,人们不知道他的真实名字.由于得了佝偻病,他的后背高高隆起,旁人看他走路,就像一头骆驼俯伏而行,所以乡里人都称他为“橐驼”(tuótuó)。橐驼并不嫩弃这个外号,反而说:“好得很,用它来称呼我确实很恰当呢.”从此,他对外人也自称“橐驼”,久而久之,他的原名也就被淡忘了.橐驼所在的村庄叫丰乐乡,位于长安西郊,橐驼一生以种树为业,声名远播,凡是长安城里的豪绅人家要修建园林,果园主人要请人育种剪枝,无不争相雇佣他.说来也怪,经橐驼之手所种的,或者移植的树木,竟没有不成活的,而且根深叶茂,果实结得又早又多。其他的种树专业户,虽然偷偷地察看和学习他的种树
