日本三心胡萝卜,呈长圆柱形,皮为桔红色,肉色较皮色淡,其心为黄色,故称“三心胡萝卜”。日本三心胡萝卜长24～36厘米,单个重一般250克,最大的达723克,品质好,宜煮食和腌渍,也是加工胡萝卜汁的最佳品种。
