邓小平继承和丰富了毛泽东关于文化建设的理论,在领导全党和全国人民进行社会主义现代化建设的过程中,把文化建设放到了十分突出的位置。他认为,科学技术是第一生产力,社会主义现代化必须“两个文明”一起抓;文化建设应以马克思主义为指导,以社会主义为方向。
Deng Xiaoping inherited and enriched Mao Tse-tung’s theory of cultural construction. In leading the entire party and the people throughout the country in carrying out the socialist modernization drive, Deng Xiaoping put cultural construction in a prominent position. He believes that science and technology are primary productive forces and that socialist modernization must be tackled together with “two civilizations.” Cultural construction should be guided by Marxism and take socialism as its goal.
