类固醇贮存注射法(depot injection)治疗花粉症已广泛应用20余年。但采用安慰剂对照、双盲法研究其对花粉症病人所有特异症状的疗效,尚无先例。本文观察了同一组病人在二个花粉季节分别在季初和季中花粉量高峰期接受80mg 甲基强的松龙一次贮存注射对解除鼻塞、喷嚏、流清涕、擤鼻涕和眼痒的效果,发现类固醇对鼻塞疗效明显,作用出现较快,持续4周以上;对眼痒中度有效;对分泌过度和喷嚏几无作用,不同时间给药效果均较理想,但在花粉高峰期给药的效果,不能排除花粉量开始减少的影响。本研究提示,皮质类固醇一次贮存注射,可用于严重的花粉症病人,
