To investigate the relationship between the expression of CD44 and p21 protein in pancreatic cancer tissues and their metastasis characteristics, as well as the correlation between the two expressions, the authors used mouse anti-human monoclonal antibodies F10-44-2 and p21 monoclonal antibodies against various variants of CD44. , 46 cases of primary pancreatic cancer, 18 cases of lymph node metastases of pancreatic cancer and 5 cases of liver metastases of pancreatic cancer were immunohistochemically stained. Results The positive staining rates of CD44 and p21 proteins in pancreatic cancer metastases were significantly higher than those in primary lesions. The expressions of CD44 and p21 in metastatic pancreatic cancer tissues were significantly higher than those in non-metastasis pancreatic tissues. There was a significant difference between them. The correlation test showed a significant correlation between the CD44 positive and p21 positive groups. The results showed that pancreatic cancer tissues with positive expression of CD44 or p21 were more likely to undergo metastasis. The authors believe that p21 protein promotes metastasis by causing elevated expression of variant CD44.
