The thriving economy of Japan and its impact on the world for three decades have undoubtedly been one of the most important phenomena in the 20th century. Since the industrial revolution, Japan has been among the first non-Western countries in the ranks of countries with the highest output and personal income. Japan has become an unexpected new source of capital and technology in the world today and has greatly overwhelmed the momentum of the European and American countries. A British observer believes that if the historical period of 1775-1875 can be called the British century, 1875-1975 can be called the American century, the next 100 years is likely to be the Pacific Century. If so, a total of pushing force will come from Japan.
