高清晰度电视(HDTV)正在世界范围内走进实用阶段,它将给人们的生活带来变革。而全数字化是HDTV的发展方向。数字HDTV编码的核心是帧间预测/帧内DCT编码,基于运动补偿的帧间预测可以大大降低序列图像的冗余度,提高编码效率。运动估值算法的好坏直接影响帧间预测的效果,人们从运算复杂度和编码效率两方面出发,研究了多种运动估值方法。由于运动图像的复杂性和硬件实现的困难,完全满意的运动估值方法还没有。基于遗传算法的运动估值算法是其中比较好的一种算法。
High-definition television (HDTV) is entering a practical stage worldwide, and it will revolutionize people’s lives. The all-digital HDTV is the development direction. The core of digital HDTV coding is interframe prediction / intra-frame DCT coding. Motion compensation based inter-frame prediction can greatly reduce the redundancy of sequence images and improve the coding efficiency. The performance of motion estimation algorithm directly affects the effect of inter prediction. From the aspects of computational complexity and coding efficiency, people study a variety of motion estimation methods. Due to the complexity of the moving images and the hardware implementation difficulties, the totally satisfactory method of motion estimation has not yet been available. The motion estimation algorithm based on genetic algorithm is one of the better algorithms.
