In order to explore the relationship between wood dust and cancer, we conducted a retrospective cohort study on a wood integrated plant. The wood dust group had 2362 (male 1707, female 655) people exposed to wood dust, with 33,679 person-years and observation period of 15 years. (1978.1.1. ~ 1992.12.31.), non-wood dust group is a local coal mine staff of 2587 people, 54040 people, observation period of 21 years (1972.1.1. ~ 1992.12.31. ), And compared with the mortality of local residents. All cancer patients in the cohort were diagnosed in grades I to II. The top 3 cancers that exposed wood dust to workers were lung cancer (35.1%), liver cancer (18.2%), and esophageal cancer (15.6%). Compared with the non-wood dust group, the standard death rates of wood dust exposure to workers’ cancer, lung cancer, colon cancer, and esophageal cancer were 242.52, 74.62, 43.78, and 42.82/100 000, respectively. 1.98, 4.08, 3.23, and 2.88 were highly significant differences (P<0.01). The SMR of total cancer, lung cancer, colon cancer, and leukemia was 154.8, 218.6, 284.8, and 352.7, respectively (P<0.05 or P<0.01). Tip wood dust may have a certain relationship with lung cancer, colorectal cancer, esophageal cancer, liver cancer and leukemia.
