4月15日至19日,全国政协副主席钱正英对湖北省及武汉市的水利进行了视察。钱正英重点视察了武汉市市区堤防并详细调查了市区附近分、蓄洪区情况,听取了武汉市关于堤防达标建设计划的汇报。武汉市计划用3年时间把尚未达到国家规定防洪标准(即按1954年最高洪水位超高2米)的78.43公里国家确保干堤建成达标,以确保武汉市在特大洪水到来时安全渡汛。
