2002年10月10日,塞罕坝机械林场专业扑火队应运而生。扑火队从组织上由总场森林防火指挥部垂直领导;人员上以云南森警部队复退军人为主干,以各林场抽调的精干人员为辅助;资金和装备上均由总场制定计划发放,每年总投入中人员工资占近50万元,配备车辆、机具、通讯工具、服装等,价值150余万元。在人力、财力、物力都有保证的前提下,林场专业扑火队已经初见规模。这是一支年轻而富有活力的队伍。由于气候的异常变化,扑火队现已从单纯的季节性防火转变为全年性防火,一年有340余天吃住在工作岗位上,即使是在非防火期也要
