庄因,1933年生,北京人。著名学者,散文家。先后任教于澳大利亚墨尔本大学,美国斯坦福大学。著有散文集《杏庄小品》《八千里路云和月》《山路风来草木香》等。庄因在谈到散文创作时曾说过:“散文要用大家公用的语言,精美地表达作者的感觉,并产生艺术的美感。文字在散文中是非常重要的。散文创作者在创作中,如果文字不够精致,不够精确,那么可以视作先天不足,他的散文将是没有欣赏价值的。”作为大陆迁台的学者和散文家,庄因传承了“五四”时期代表作家的语言风格,表现出一种含蓄蕴藉、典雅凝练的大家风范,突出地表现在以下几个方面:
