Sukmono等(1997)指出有一种被称为苏门答腊断层系(SFS)地震活动性分形图象的重复性图象,将沿具有断层段几何分维(D)值的SFS诸段发生的浅源大地震(深度≤50km,5≤m_b≤7.0)的时间给出了相关关系。通过使用这种重复图象,成功地预测出两个1995~1996年间发生在SFS的地震。从1997年这篇文章发表以来,在SFS已发生过4次浅源大地震,分别发生在亚齐段(3次)和克帕希昂段。这4次地震遵从所提出的SFS地震活动性分形图象,从而又一次证实了这种图象沿SFS地震长期预测中的适用性。
Sukmono et al. (1997) pointed out that there is a repetitive image of a fractal image called Seychelles Fault System (SFS) seismic activity that occurs along a shallow source with large SFS segments that have a fractal dimension (D) Earthquakes (depth ≤50km, 5≤m_b≤7.0) are time-related. Using this repeat image, two earthquakes that occurred in the SFS between 1995 and 1996 were successfully predicted. Since the publication of this article in 1997, there have been 4 shallow earthquakes occurred in the SFS, occurring in the Aceh section (3 times) and the Cleopatra section respectively. These four earthquakes comply with the proposed fractal image of the SFS seismicity, again confirming the applicability of this image along the long-term SFS prediction.
