In recent years,because of new applicationsof amino acids in food,feed,pharmaceuticals,agriculture and household chemicals,especiallydue to the rapid development of anticancerdrugs,amino acid infusion formulationsand sweet dipeptides,the demand foramino acids as raw materials is growingrapidly.Recently,it was found that L-valineis a key intermediate for the synthesisof an immune antibiotic,which has increasedits annual demand by several thousand tonsworldwide.Now,its global annual outputhas reached over 10 000 tons.At present,very few Chinese companies are able to produceL-valine on an industrial scale.In China,the preparation of amino acid infusion aloneneeds to import several hundred tons of Lvalineevery year.With the growing use ofamino acid infusion,the demand for L-valineis bound to rise rapidly.
