草胡子鲶是近年来我省引进的一种淡水养殖优良品种,它具有生长快,产量高,销路好等优点,深受群众欢迎。为了挖掘草胡子鲶的养殖潜力,武冈县法相岩乡资南村村民仇小斌,1987年利用稻田改塘面积一亩,实行养殖两季草胡子鲶的方法,取得了亩产鲜鱼1163公斤,收入4827.4元,纯收入3805.8元。仇小斌于4月20日放养22厘米的草胡子鲶1500尾,采用大米、玉米粉、米糠、鱼粉、冻肉厂的猪下脚料、死猪肉以及禽畜粪,经过86天的饲养,7月16日干塘起捕草胡子鲶1365尾.成活率91％,重610公斤,最大个体1.95公斤,平均体重0.89公斤,同时还产其它鱼
