2004年中国港口吞吐量继续保持高速增长,稳步蝉联世界第一。预计2004年全国港口总吞吐量将突破40亿吨,增长21.3%;集装箱吞吐量将达6150万标准箱,增长26.4%。中国贸易的迅速放量,正吸引越来越多的各路资金游弋而来,掀起了港口投资热潮。资金云集中国港口按中国交通部预测,到2010年,中国光是沿海港口总吞吐能力将达到35 亿吨,集装箱码头总吞吐能力达1.2亿标准箱。中国打算从现在起到2010年, 将港口吞吐能力翻一番。
