The authors studied serum copper levels in women who had been using Cu-IUD for a long period of time to determine if any change in copper levels associated with long-term use of Cu-IUD was associated with copper poisoning. The cross-sectional study included 148 women without any birth control method (control group), 95 women aged 6 to 48 months with Lippes Loop, and 107 women aged 6 to 48 with Cu-T 200 Months of women’s serum copper levels were determined to determine whether there was any difference in serum copper levels between Cu-IUD and non-users. Longitudinal studies included 7 women without any birth control method and 17 women with Cu-IUD who measured serum copper levels every 3 months for up to 24 months to follow up on Cu-IUD and Cu -IUD changes in serum copper in two years of women, in addition to six normal women and six women set Cu-T 200 (200) at the beginning of a month 2 times a week to determine the serum copper content of 1 month to study
