Objective: To investigate the correlation between lower urinary tract symptoms (LUTS) and erectile dysfunction (ED) in middle-aged and elderly men. METHODS: Eighty patients with LUTS symptoms were investigated retrospectively by questionnaire for International Prostate Symptom Score (IPSS) and Erectile Dysfunction Self-Rating Scale (IIEF-5). Results: The mean IPSS scores of the 80 age groups were (60.2 years old), 60-69 years old (≥70 years old), average IPSS score were (15.2 ± 6.8), (16.6 ± 6.5) and (15.7 ± 7.8) respectively. Spearman method analysis of age and IPSS no significant correlation between. With the IPSS score increased IIEF scores gradually decreased, the difference was statistically significant. CONCLUSIONS: The decreasing IIEF score with increasing IPSS score suggests a correlation between LUTS and ED.
