Birke和Underwood曾阐述过人体内一种必不可少的微量元素Se(硒)的重要性。最近的研究指出GSH-Px(谷胱甘肽过氧化氢酶),在细胞氧化代谢过程中,起着排除过氧化氢以及在其它器官中形成的过氧化物的作用。这种清除过程防止一些对细胞膜有潜在损害作用的类脂过氧化物和游离基的蓄积。
Birke and Underwood described the importance of Se (selenium), an essential trace element in the human body. Recent studies indicate that GSH-Px (glutathione peroxidase) plays a role in the elimination of hydrogen peroxide and the formation of peroxides in other organs during cellular oxidative metabolism. This clearing process prevents the accumulation of lipid peroxides and free radicals that have the potential to impair the cell membrane.
