汉语文学进入中古时代的一个巨大变化就是出现汉译佛典文学影响下的新文学。这个新文学在思想信仰、意趣想象、题材体裁、风格语言等诸多方面,与原有的文学相比,形成相当大的异趣。文学思想对宇宙、社会、人事的新的思考、反省,把文学创作提升至一个崭新的高度;新的审美意象的运用,为文学注入深邃的意蕴和内涵;审美想象的拓展,为文学构筑起多层次的立体虚构世界;汉译佛典文学影响下的汉语文学走势,反映出外来文化强劲的渗透力,同时,也显示出本土文学强大的融受力和涵化力。
One of the great changes that Chinese literature entered in the Middle Ages was the emergence of new literature under the influence of Chinese-translated Buddhist literature.
