The present study tested the state-trait anxiety of PE students in the examination of motor skills. The results show that trait anxiety has little effect on the students ’test scores. The state anxiety has a great relationship with students’ mastery of movement and proficiency in completing the test. Students who are proficient in the movement and finish the action well, The state of anxiety is low, on the contrary, state anxiety is high, the two exist different degrees of difference. In an “open” exam, a moderate reduction in anxiety is beneficial when there is a need for coordinated, sensitive and consistent action thinking. Students with high aspirations and strong abilities are slightly more likely to state anxiety in projects that are more dangerous and accidental (such as vaults). In this experiment, the trait anxiety of students is higher than that of state anxiety, and the reason is worth to be further explored.
