As the leader of the British Sculpture Foundation, the Karth Sculptures Foundation is presenting the first outdoor sculpture exhibition in the UK by Chinese artists. The historical connection between Chinese and British garden aesthetics is the beginning and inspiration of the creation of these distinguished contemporary Chinese artists. The exhibition “The Beauty of Disorder” is quoted from a letter from the Jesuit missionary, court painter of the Qing Dynasty, in the year 1743, which exerted a tremendous influence on English garden culture. Wang Zhicheng uses “disorderly beauty” to describe the unique charm of Chinese gardens - bringing a dramatic subversive perception to audiences through a series of dramatic borrowing strategies.
