1.在表示“可能性”方面can,should,may,might这四个词都可以用来表示“可能性”,但在表达语气和程度方面有所不同。can和should可以事实理由为依据而存在的可能性,其中should的主观性较强,往往含有“应该会怎么样”的意思。总体上说,这两个词在这方面的语气较强、较肯定。与之相比,may和might这两个词在这方面的语气较弱些,没有那么肯定,往往表示主观臆断的可能性,没有足够的客观依据。其中might的语气更为委婉、
1. The four words can, should, may, and might in the expression “possibility” can all be used to denote “possibility” but differ in the tone and degree of expression. The possibility that can and should can be based on factual reasons, in which subject’s subjectivity is strong, often contains the meaning of “what should happen”. In general, these two words have a stronger and more positive tone in this respect. In contrast, the may and might words are weaker in this respect, and they are not so sure. They often indicate the possibility of subjective deterrence and there is not enough objective evidence. Among them, the tone of the might is more euphemistic.
