宣统元年(1909年)二月,中葡双方派员在香港展开中葡澳门勘界谈判,因双方分歧太大而中止,至宣统二年(1910年)一月葡萄牙谈判代表马楂度谋求列强仲裁解决,但也以失败而告终。谈判过程中广东各界人士开展各种活动支持清政府,其中“勘界维持总会”与分会的成立,以及其进行的各种爱国活动直接影响着清政府在此次界务谈判中的决策。通过对《葡萄牙驻广州总领事馆档案》相关内容的梳理和研究,再现勘界维持会的成立及其主要爱国活动,具有一定的现实意义。
In the first year of Xuantong (1909), both China and Portugal dispatched their staff to conduct negotiations on the demarcation between China and Portugal in Hong Kong, suspended due to the great differences between the two parties. In January of that year (1910), the Portuguese negotiator, Ma Xu, sought to seek Arbitration resolved, but also ended in failure. During the negotiation, people of all walks of life in Guangdong carried out various activities to support the Qing government. Among them, the establishment of “demarcation maintenance headquarters” and the branch and the various patriotic activities carried out by them directly influenced the Qing government’s efforts in this negotiation decision making. It is of practical significance to sort out and study the relevant contents of the archives of the Consulate General of Portugal in Guangzhou to reproduce the establishment of the demarcation and maintenance of pavilions and its main patriotic activities.
