亚德是一名二十多岁的美国青年,他渴爱运动,肌肉发达,体型健美,像红极一时的好莱坞动作电影明星史泰龙。工作之余,他特别喜欢冒险运动和极限运动,对攀登高海拔、高坡度的冰山险峰独有情钟。“天有不测风云,人有旦夕祸福”。2002年4月的一天,亚德和朋友们在攀登一座山峰时,不慎摔下了山谷。亚德被紧急送往医院,却因为伤势过重,被医生宣布为脑死亡。因为亚德生前签署过“死后志愿捐献遗体”的声明,所以医院马上开始联系器官移植的受者。
