International Hydropower Association to 2050 set a global goal of 2050GW installed capacity. But the real problem will not disappear because of the optimism of the industry. The hydropower outlook for the 2050 deadline is still fraught with confusion. In the 1990s, in response to the escalating anti-dam movement, the International Hydropower Association was established. The world’s most authoritative hydropower NGO organizes, every two years from 2007, the world’s top hydropower companies, experts and government representatives to host the World Hydropower Conference. It has also become the world’s highest standard of hydropower conferences. In the 21st century, the construction of hydropower in China drove the substantial growth of hydropower installed capacity in the world.
